Ballet for Belly Dancers
Many dancers and athletes turn to ballet for cross
training and Sabah will show you why! In this
exciting workshop we will focus on core strength
training, grace, balance, and structure. Ballet can
enhance a belly dancers ability to hold posture from
the center, help move the body gracefully through
space, and create clean and precise lines from head to
toe.
Infuse your belly dance technique with grace and
give yourself more options in movement vocabulary.
Whether you are dancing in an intimate space or a
large auditorium, this unique combination of styles
can help with spatial awareness and presentation.
Ballet for Belly Dancers is a tailored-made class for
belly dancers looking for a fantastic,technique-improving workout. We'll begin with a floor
barre warm-up series that consists of ballet movements
designed specifically to tone, lengthen and strengthen
the body.The main portion of the class will focus on
body alignment, posture, and arm placement, cross-pull
coordination, arabesque lines, and turns. Then we'll
incorporate it all into dynamic combinations,
seamlessly transitioning in and out of hip work.
Be
prepared for a challenging workout that will benefit
both new and seasoned dancers! Get ready to see
results and have fun exploring a different face of
dance!
* PLEASE NOTE: The warm-up does include floor work,
so students are encouraged to bring a yoga / exercise
mat for comfort. Soft slipper ballet shoes are
encouraged but not required.
